Abu Dhar said, “ I was with the Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) one day and I heard him saing: ‘ There is something I fear for my Ummah than the Dajjal.’  It was then that I became afraid, so I said: ‘ Oh Rasool Allah! Which thing is that?’  He (SAW) said; ‘ Misguided and astray scholars.’  ”

Narrated Ibn Hawalah:

“ The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: ‘It will turn out that you will be armed troops, one is Syria, one in the Yemen and one in Iraq.’  Ibn Hawalah said: ‘Choose for me, Apostle of Allah, if I reach that time.’  He replied:  ‘Go to Syria, for it is Allah’s chosen land, to which his best servants will be gathered, but if you are unwilling, go to your Yemen, and draw water from your tanks, for Allah has on my account taken special charge of Syria and its people.’  ”

( Dawud :: Book 14 : Hadith 2477 )

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) who said:

“ I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say, ‘What I have forbidden for you, avoid. What I have ordered you [to do], do as much of it as you can. For verily, it was only the excessive questioning and their disagreeing with their Prophets that destroyed [the nations] who were before you.’ ”
